Common questions
Why is it free?
MicroPrint is a side project, not a VC-backed startup. There are no investors to satisfy, no growth targets, and no ad network to feed. It costs almost nothing to run — the templates generate in your browser, so there's no server doing heavy lifting. Free is the right price.
Is there a catch?
No. No freemium tier, no "basic" vs "pro" split, no templates locked behind a plan. Every template, every theme, every customization option is available to everyone.
Will it ever cost money?
Not the core tool. If there's ever something optional — like a cloud sync feature or a print-to-door service — it would be clearly separate and opt-in. The local, browser-based version will always be free.
How do you make money?
Right now, we don't. There's an optional Ko-fi tip jar for people who want to support the project — but it's not expected, not prompted, and not required. MicroPrint exists because it's useful, not because it's a business.
What about my privacy?
Everything runs in your browser. Your customizations are saved locally in your browser's storage — nothing is sent to any server. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no ad tech. Open the page, print your thing, close the tab.
